Accuracy and Precision of Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Analysis of Trace and Major Elements in Rock Standard Reference Materials Using Fine Powder

In this work the performance of a screening analytical method for Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) analysis in terms accuracy and precision was evaluated through rock standard reference materials. The allowed division elements into four groups taking account excitation energies measurement conditions sample. Two materials were used 15 sample replicates prepared analyzed, then statistics applied to assess results. obtained results show that major compounds or (SiO2, P2O5, K2O, CaO, Fe2O3, Ti) can be determined fine powder with deviation lower than 15%, relative range (1 - 10)%. found 5% such as which suggest EDXRF is accurate evaluating elemental concentrations samples. It also seems more precise trace element investigation. This routine acceptable results, even though should optimized increase its accuracy.
